Don't Market to Me

Idk. I don't really like pay attention to ads. Even when I try to focus on 'em I can't. Most of the time the people in the ads don't look like me so Idc 'bout em. I can't lie tho' ... I think if I saw more people like me on the TV or ads and stuff I would probably buy things they sold. I don't really shop so clothes ads don't affect me. I'm not a skinny white girl so I don't want whatever she sellin neither.

A cool marketing trick is a cool song tho'. When I hear a catchy song on a commercial I remember it. Usually the cooler songs be for things I can't even buy like plumbing lol. OHHHHHHHHH I like the sundrop commercial. I bought the soda one day just because I remembered the guy dancing to "2 Much Booty in the Pants". Things like that are probably aimed at kids.

I just recently read a few things on media advertising and marketing. Have you noticed different ads that are placed online? If you cannot recall any specific ads then please take take time to notice different banners/pop-ups/etc. How do these ads target specific people? Are these ads effective in selling certain products?

I Ain't No Joke

Sometimes I kinda exaggerate about how mad I am bout stuff. That's because I don't want ppl to like try me or think I'm soft. I hate how ppl question me because I'm small and quiet. I know that I make sure I let folk know that I can fight and don't take no bull. I don't talk about sex online. I think that it's nasty and too many ppl do it anyways. Idky folk do that sex thing all the time. They post naked pictures on twitter and instagram calling it stuff like "titty tuesday" and "thong thursday". Why do ppl need to do that for? I think it's degrading and demeaning. Girls be doing that just for attention and boys tell ugly girls that they like it just to see more.

A Deeper Look

Some researchers have noted that people feel safer to post certain things online. As far as the young man that you say is a liar ... well ... he could possibly be portraying the person that he wants to be in the offline world. Do you know of any girls that elaborate online as well? How do they embellish? Think about your fb (or any other social networking site that you have), have you ever said anything that may be an exaggeration of sorts?

Internet Liars

Idk. Some of the ppl that post on these sites I do know. Some I don't but they all do the same crap. I mean honestly I don't think that all those people are out there doing all the things that they post bout. Even the lil internet thugs are just flaggin for fb and twitter. I know this boy that talks bout all these girls he gets and stuff and he is just a lame virgin. But on twitter he be talkin like he pulls anything with a hole. It's so stupid because ppl that know him knows that he is just puttin on for the internet. I think that a lot of people online are just fake. It's not true identity or even alter-egos. It's lies.

I mean I don't know ALL of the folk that's online so I can't call em ALL liars but alot of em are.

Identifying New Perspectives

Do you think this "front" could be classified as an alternate identity? Some sort of cyber alter ego? If I told you that some people reveal more about themselves online than in person how would you react? Have there ever been things that you have posted online that you may not necessarily say in a face to face conversation?

When you speak of seeing sexual things online are these people that you actually know? How do you know that it's simply for attention?

Identity Online??

Idk if identity is created online. I think who I am is not defined by my facebook and twitter. Those are just sites to shoot the shit with and like be goofy on. Sometimes folk be tryin' to preach on them sites but I don't think that other ppl be payin' attention to them. The most stuff that ppl pay attention to are like sex posts and pictures. I think people post certain things on fb just to get other folk to flock to them and give them tons of compliments. It's called fishing. Other ppl post sex stuff on their pages because they think its cute and it draws like alot of attention. I don't think that's their true identity tho'. Just a front.
